Allstar customers can now pay for EV charging at Smart Charge hubs

Paying for electric vehicle (EV) charging on the road just got more convenient for Allstar customers who can now enjoy access to Sainsbury’s Smart Charge, as it signs a partnership to be the supermarket giant’s first EV roaming partner for businesses.

With a mission dedicated to making it simple and convenient for business drivers to drive electric, Smart Charge brings an additional 504+ ultra-rapid charging bays across 62+ charging hubs on one of the UK’s largest and fastest electric charging payment networks for business. Allstar customers will instantly have the ability to use their Allstar Chargepass, Allstar One Electric and Allstar Electric cards at these hubs and with Smart Charge striving to open new hubs every month – as Smart Charge grows, our customer’s options will too.  

This exciting partnership builds on an already established and successful heritage of over 20 years between Allstar and Sainsburys for fuel. The growth of the partnership now means that drivers will be able to recharge their vehicles using the state-of-the-art charging technology and equipment that uses the same 100% renewable electricity that powers Sainsbury’s estates.

Smart Charge hubs are open 24/7 and have the convenience of being next to Sainsbury’s stores and in key locations, so business drivers can access all the amenities the stores provide, pick up a coffee and lunch all while they charge. Meeting drivers’ needs during their downtime means they can get back on the road quickly and recharged too, ready for the rest of the working day.
