With Allstar Chargepass, drivers will receive an RFID card that grants them access to all the compatible charge points on the network. Drivers simply need to go to one of these public charging locations, plug in their EV and tap the RFID card on the charge point where specified, and that’s it, the EV should be charging.
An RFID card is equipped with a reader, and the reader's antenna receives electromagnetic energy from a tag’s antenna on another device, for instance, a charge point. Using power taken from the reader's electromagnetic field, the tag sends radio waves back to the reader. The reader then interprets the tag's radio waves into meaningful data, which will usually be identifying information about the cardholder.
All transactions made on Allstar Chargepass cards are automatically combined in to one HMRC complaint invoice for the exact amount used each time.
Drivers using Allstar Chargepass will have access to thousands of charge locations across the UK, and with 85% of the network boasting fast, rapid and ultra-rapid charging speeds, drivers can get back on the road in no time.
