Electric vehicle (EV) fleet drivers across the UK can now pay for charging at both Fastned and Connected Kerb sites using their Allstar One Electric card via Zapmap.
The Zapmap app is free for all fleet drivers to download and add their Allstar One Electric card to the app to activate Allstar features, enabling them to pay for EV charging at a range of participating sites.
As the leading UK eMobility Service Provider with hundreds of thousands of EV drivers using the Zapmap app, Zapmap enables users to plan their routes with each charger’s location, type and speed clearly indicated, along with details of other amenities available at each site. Zapmap also shows how to pay for charging, through Zap-Pay, a convenient way to pay for charging without having to create an account with multiple charging providers.
Both Fastned and Connected Kerb join existing Allstar network providers Osprey, ESB Energy and MFG EV Power, already available on Zap-Pay.
Connected Kerb’s offering is designed to cater for long-stay charging and its charge points are found mainly on roadside and in residential areas, as well as in hotel car parks and leisure parks. The company partnered with Allstar in 2022 to enable drivers who are not able to recharge their vehicles at home to do so at convenient locations for extended time periods.
More recently, Allstar partnered with Fastned to boost its payments infrastructure in the UK and was ranked the best joint charge point operator in the UK by the users of Zapmap in 2022.
Tom Rowlands, FLEETCOR Managing Director, Global EV Solutions, including UK brand, Allstar, said: “Essential to the continued rapid expansion of EV infrastructure in the UK is that the payment process for each and every charging transaction is as seamless as possible. With customers now able to pay to charge at Fastned and Connected Kerb sites on the Allstar One Electric card via Zap-Pay, that ease of use has increased considerably.”
“By facilitating fleets’ ability to pay to charge across multiple charge points via Zap-Pay, Allstar and Zapmap are helping to ensure this infrastructure continues to be developed at an accelerated rate. It’s fantastic to see this moving so positively in the right direction.”
